Melissa greets President Obama
Kennedy Center Honors Awards aired Dec 29 on CBS: Melissa received a standing ovation for her rockin' performance of "Born To Run," honoring Bruce Springsteen at the Kennedy Centers Honors. The event, which salutes artists for their cultural contributions, took place on Dec 6 at the JFK Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C.
Recipients honored at the national celebration of the arts were: writer, composer, actor, director, and producer Mel Brooks; pianist and composer Dave Brubeck; opera singer Grace Bumbry; actor, director, and producer Robert De Niro; and singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen. Melissa attended the Awards dinner on Saturday (Dec 5) and performed at the Awards ceremony on Sunday (Dec 6).
